Methodology

How Fly2Any evaluates flight decisions.

Fly2Any separates live availability from editorial guidance. Route, airport, ranking, and booking-window pages help travelers make better decisions — but static content must not pretend to be live inventory. This page documents how we compile fare data, classify claims, cite sources, and maintain accuracy.

Claim Classification Standard

All editorial claims in Fly2Any content are classified into one of three categories before publication. This classification determines how each claim is written and presented.

Claim TypeDefinitionHow Presented
Class 1 — Live DataPrices, availability, schedules, and seat inventory that change in real time via live GDS.Always routed through live Fly2Any search. Never displayed as a static number in editorial content.
Class 2 — Planning GuidanceHistorical booking-window patterns, seasonal trends, and typical price ranges from GDS data.Labeled as planning estimates. Uses language like “historically,” “typically,” or “observed.” Always includes a reminder to verify in live search.
Class 3 — External AuthorityStatistics, regulations, and findings sourced from BTS, FAA, DOT, IATA, or airline filings.Always cited with source name, publication date, and a hyperlink to the original document. Never editorially modified beyond summarizing in context.

How Fly2Any Compiles Fare Data

All flight search results on Fly2Any are powered by live GDS (Global Distribution System) connectivity. The GDS is an airline industry reservation network that provides real-time seat availability, pricing, and schedule data from participating airlines. When a traveler searches for flights on Fly2Any, the platform queries live GDS inventory at that moment — not a cached or estimated dataset.

What this means for travelers: Prices displayed in Fly2Any flight search reflect actual airline inventory at the time of the search. Prices can change between searches as seats sell or yields shift. Fly2Any always recommends confirming the final price at checkout before payment.

What this does NOT mean: GDS-connected fares are not guaranteed to be the lowest available. Some airlines operate proprietary booking channels (website-only fares, loyalty member fares) that are not distributed through the GDS. Travelers should verify airline-direct prices for routes where they hold frequent flyer status.

Total Trip Cost Evaluation Model

Fly2Any evaluates travel decisions using total trip cost: airfare, baggage, seats, schedule quality, airport access, transfer cost, hotel location, activity timing, disruption risk, and cancellation rules. The cheapest fare is not automatically the best travel decision.

Editorial content is required to help travelers compare the full cost of a journey — not just the headline fare. This means baggage fee comparisons, airport transfer cost context, and cancellation policy disclosure are considered part of fare guidance, not optional add-ons.

Primary External Data Sources

The following organizations form Fly2Any's authoritative external source library. All citations in editorial content link directly to the originating source document.

Operational Rule

When content and live search disagree, live search wins. When a source is unavailable, Fly2Any labels the statement as planning guidance or removes it from indexable content.
